Cheers to the SC109 Sketch Challenge

Time to celebrate another Stampin' Celebration sketch challenge SC109!  I was so excited to see the various takes on the sketch by the design team.  They did a great job interpreting the sketch!

The nice thing about this sketch is you can use anything for the different stripes! Washi tape works well and is really quick.  But as the design team showed us, there are many other options to chose from!

I decided to use washi tape.  I love the convenience although I have to admit, I don't incorporate it into my cards as much as I should!

For my card I decided to create a background using the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set and Hello Honey ink.  Then I layered washi tape (2014-2016 In Color Washi Tape and Bohemian Designer Washi Tape).

My favorite part of the card is the die cut sentiment "Cheers"!  I love the font in the new Greetings Thinlits Dies from Stampin' Up! in the 2015-2016 catalog.

I decided to add some banners and a star to add to the celebration feel of the card!

The washi tape made the card pretty simple to make and I am happy with the end result.

Can't wait to see what you create with this sketch!  Hope you play along!!

We All Scream "Celebrate!"

Time for another Stampin' Celebration Inspiration Challenge!

After making my project for this challenge I had to go eat a fudgsicle!  I couldn't resist!

I decided to use the colors from the challenge for my card.  I also liked the pink stripes on the straws!

You can never have too many "celebrate" cards, especially this time of year!  So I decided to make banners with two different colors.  I cut the banners in tip top taupe and then in Hello Honey.  Then I cut out each flag and glued it to the tip top taupe flags.  The rest of the project is pretty easy to figure out.

Hope you enjoy this month's inspiration, can't wait to see what inspires you!

A Simple Hello

I love the new thinlits and framelits in the 2015-2016 Stampin' Up! catalog.  I decided to make a simple card using the Greetings Thinlits dies.  I just love the font with this thinlet set!

I went for a simple floral look and pulled out the Flower Shop and Petite Petal stamp sets and their coordinating punches.  So easy once you get the flowers lined up appropriately to punch!  After punching out the flowers, I layered them and added a candy dot to the middle for additional pop.

The watercolor background is from the For All Things stamp set.

Pretty simple card with a nice effect!

Love Goes Wild

I can't tell you how nice it is to have a day off from work with no plans!  Lots I can do, but decided to just do the basics first!  And first things first, a new shipment from Stampin Up! arrived on my front porch at 11:00 am!  So, after sorting and ogling, and a little grocery shopping, I actually had time to play!

I decided to play along with The Friday Mashup.

I bought the It's Wild background stamp and the Go Wild Designer Series Paper Stack and decided to make a neutral card with a pop of color!  I thought I had the heart punch but I couldn't find it anywhere so I had to fussy cut the hearts.  It turned out better because then I could make the taupe heart smaller.

Well, it's a gorgeous day so better enjoy it why I can!  Have a great weekend!
